Recall Survey
Survey Results
In addition to the State Food Safety Resource Survey, AFDO conducted a recall survey for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The purpose of the survey was to identify obstacles to recall efforts in the hope of improving how FDA and the states can better work together in this critical work.
Survey information was received from 30 state agencies, 21 of them indicated they had coordinated a recall effort within the past 2 years. Data received from AFDO’s State Food Safety Resource Survey indicated that state and local agencies coordinated 1244 food product recalls during a 12-month period for which data was available.
