- 1/2 We’re getting a lot of understandable questions from the public related to the shutdown and its impacts on #FDA operations; such as the agency’s ability to accept new medical product applications, conduct routine inspections, or process product applications already in house.
- 2/2 Given the volume of questions that we want to address, and the evolving nature of some of the information that we’ll aim to share; #FDA plans to use social media as a primary channel for communicating with the public through this shutdown. I’ll be sharing information here.

- We’re issuing more guidance today on activities that’ll be continuing during the shutdown because of critical public health need. I recognize the impacts this is having on our workforce and we are taking whatever steps we can to address the personal challenges felt by our people.
- #FDA will be taking new steps in 2019 to combat antimicrobial resistance and will also continue to implement the elements of our new, comprehensive work plan. A great first step to protect antibiotics for the future
