AMC Course Protocol
As a trainer of the AMC for Leaders Workshop, you must:
Share the AMC for Leaders course with your learners in its original format.
Register your course with AFDO and order supplies at least 14 days prior to the course date.
Hold the course with trainers who have completed the AMC Train-the-Trainer (TTT) course. This course is designed to be led by facilitators with a mix of Industry and Regulatory backgrounds. The ideal mix would be two Industry professionals and two Regulatory professionals to facilitate each course.
Facilitate the course in an in-person format.
Use all required materials listed in the Trainer Guide (sometimes called the Facilitator Guide).
Follow the course schedule with all breaks and activities on the agenda.
Practice and be ready to facilitate the session with excellence.
Be prepared to share your own stories throughout the course.
Complete the recommended Practice Sessions:
Two virtual sessions
One in-person day before the actual course
Complete classroom setup.
Use the AFDO Attendee Roster to record attendance.
Do not alter or change the roster columns.
Follow the course conclusion instructions to generate attendee certificates.
AMC Course Conclusion Procedures
At the conclusion of your course, please email the Instructor Worksheet Form to afdo@afdo.org. Include your course number in the title of the email or reply to the course approval email you received from the AFDO office.
The AMC Leaders Worksheet MUST be sent to the AFDO office in electronic format for importation into the main AMC database.
Do not alter any of the field names, and please type the names exactly as the students want them to appear on the Certificate. The email address on the worksheet should be where the Certificate is to be emailed.
If the student does not have an email address, please indicate this. The Certificate will be mailed to the address provided by the student.
Course documentation to be completed by the instructor
The following documents are provided to the supervisory instructor upon approval of a course. It is the responsibility of the supervisory instructor that all documentation is completed in full and emailed to afdo@afdo.org in a timely manner following the conclusion of the course. These documents are templates, so feel free to download a copy to keep on file.
IMPORTANT: Modifying the worksheet (e.g., hiding/removing columns, changing headers) will produce inaccurate certificates. Any reprints required will incur additional fees.
To order additional certificates, download this template, fill it out, and then upload it to the order page here.

AMC Trainer FAQ
Here you will find the most common inquiries for instructors. Don’t see your question below? Email afdo@afdo.org and add ‘AMC for leaders’ in the subject line.
For all AMC courses, your job (no matter what you’re called – moderator, instructor, trainer, or host) is to act as a facilitator. This means:
You create chances for students to share their experiences.
You help the group learn from each other’s stories and knowledge.
You guide discussions rather than lecturing.
Your goal is to bring out the wisdom already in the group, not just teach facts.
As an AMC trainer, you should think of yourself as a guide who helps everyone in the room learn from each other, rather than as the only expert giving information.
Yes, the workshop was designed for 24 learners.
To become a qualified trainer, you must first attend an AMC for Industry Leaders course to receive your AMC course certificate. Next, you must complete a Train-the-Trainer session for AMC for Leaders (AMC TTT).
Only those who have an AMC course certificate can attend the AMC TTT (Train-the-Trainer).
Qualified trainers can order course kits or individual course items from the AMC Toolbox.
If you (the trainer) plan to purchase the AMC Course Kit or AMC Certificate (Issued by AFDO):
- All AMC courses must be registered with AFDO following the course protocols.
- You must follow the course conclusion instructions, submitting required documentation to AFDO.
- Once course attendance has been verified, AFDO will then send certificates directly to students on your behalf.
- Please note that AFDO does not mail physical certificates.
If you (the trainer) plan to supply/print your own certificates:
- All AMC courses must be registered with AFDO following the course protocols.
- Upon completion of the course, you (the trainer) will be 100% responsible for creating and emailing (or printing and mailing) your students’ course certificates.
- Students will expect to receive their certificates no later than 4 weeks after course completion.
- If you choose to create your own certificates, AFDO will have no record of attendees for your course, and your students will not be able to request replacement certificates from us.
Please contact afdo@afdo.org and your message will be routed to the correct party.
