Homeland Infrastructure Threat and Risk Analysis Center (HITRAC)
Each year, the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Homeland Infrastructure Threat and Risk Analysis Center (HITRAC) initiates a data call to State Homeland Security Advisors (HSA) requesting the identification of critical assets. HITRAC wanted to enhance the ability of State Homeland Security Advisors (HSAs) to tap relevant subject matter experts (SMEs) in their States and territories during the data call which began on February 4, 2009. Obtaining greater SME input during the data call should improve the quality and relevancy of submitted data.
As part of this goal, HITRAC included an SME list with the data call guidance to HSAs. AFDO was contacted to provide a list of State Food Program Managers as part of this SME list. You may be contacted by your State HSA in order to assist in their response to this data call. The overall objective is to support HSAs by identifying additional expert resources that may be able to assist them in addressing the request to identify critical food and agriculture assets in their States and territories.
The data call guidance that was sent to the State HSAs on February 4th is attached for your information.
