Whereas, Betsy Woodward has been a valued member of the community of food safety and public health professionals for over 40 years, and
Whereas, Betsy has never stopped learning and has willingly and ably shared her knowledge to mentor as well as to inform, and
Whereas, Betsy’s work ethic is renowned, her enthusiasm is contagious, and her southern charm is disarming and genuine to the core, and
Whereas, Betsy continues to work diligently, competently, and nearly continuously to improve food and drug safety and consumer protection, even in retirement, and
Whereas, Betsy has provided distinguished service to the Association of Food and Drug Officials in nearly every conceivable capacity, including serving as its President and Director of Public Policy, therefore be it
Resolved, that the Association of Food and Drug Officials by this resolution thank Betsy Woodward for her tireless and ongoing support of the Association, and be it further
Resolved, that the Association of Food and Drug Officials recognize this distinguished service by creating a “Betsy Woodward Scholarship” to be awarded annually by the Association in Betsy’s honor, and be it further
Resolved, that a copy of this resolution along with a letter expressing our gratitude be delivered to Betsy.
