Conducted a nationwide resource survey of state and local food safety programs and developed a publication collating and summarizing the collected data to demonstrate the extent of annual food safety activities that are performed at the state and local government levels.  This information was provided to the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, and efforts are continuing through AFDO and NASDA to utilize this tool to educate individuals and organizations about the importance and necessity of state and local food safety activities in ensuring the safety and security of our nation’s food supply.

¨       Exhibited to further AFDO’s outreach and visibility at the Annual Meeting of the National Association of City and County Health Officials (NACCHO) in July 2003.

¨       Sent a personalized letter to all participants at AFDO’s annual conference and all training workshops who were not yet AFDO members inviting them to join the Association. 

¨       Received a Small Conference Grant from the FDA to provide travel funding for state participants to attend the 2003 Annual Educational Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
